Patrick James Myers, 63, of Newton died Wednesday morning, Feb. 15, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.
A memorial service for Pat will be at a later date with Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton handling the arrangements. No visitation is planned at this time. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pat, the son of Charles Merlin and Nathella Rose (Van Baale) Myers, was born June 27, 1948, in Newton. He was a graduate of the Newton Senior High School. Pat had served his country with the U.S. Army.
A lifelong resident of the Newton area, Pat was employed for several years by Progress Industries. He had devoted his life to his family and friends, and attended the Church of God. He enjoyed old movies and was a kind and warm-hearted gentleman, who always found the good in everyone.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to honor Pat’s memory include his brothers, sisters and step-sisters, Michael Myers, Danniel Myers, Conrad Myers, David Myers, Candy Judkins, Penny Juarez, Cheryl Myers and Joe Myers; a special aunt and uncle, Bessie and Ed McKeag; several nieces and nephews; and his many friends at Capstone Behavioral Healthcare.
