Ash Wednesday service at First UMC

The First United Methodist Church, 210 N. Second. Ave. E., will have an Ash Wednesday Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. 

The service will mark the beginning of the Lenten season, which is one of the oldest seasons of the church. Pastor Gary Marzolf will give the message “The Act of Giving Up.” The Chancel Choir, directed by Rachel Faidley and accompanied by Jean Ibbotson, will sing “Just As I Am, Lord.”  During the Ash Wednesday service there will be an opportunity to remember your baptism, share in the sacrament of Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes.

The public is invited to attend.
